Visa Regulations

Requirements for Au Pair

  • You are aged between 18 and 30;
  • You have basic knowledge of German
  • Not married or have children
  • Show a return ticket
  • Health/travel insurance is recommended for au pair
  • Resident permit is required for non-EU au pairs
  • There is an official au pair contract for Austria

Requirements for Family

  • There are one or more children between 3 and under 18 living in your home
  • The au pair must have her own room
  • Allow the au pair to attend a language course
  • You must speak German
  • Daily working hours should not exceed 18 hours per week
  • Au pair is entitled to receive between €520 Euros per month
  • Allow for some extra spending like mobile phone, insurance, language course
  • There is an official au pair contract for Austria
