Visa Regulations

Requirements for Au Pair

  • You are aged between 18 and 30;
  • Be able to afford travel expenses
  • Not married or have children
  • Basic knowledge of Italian
  • Health/travel insurance is recommended for au pair
  • Visa may be required for non-EU au pairs or extra conditions like sufficient funds to cover your stay
  • No contract is compulsory for Italy, however We Hive recommends to use the official EU contract template to formalize daily tasks

Requirements for Family

  • There are one or more children between 3 and under 18 living in your home
  • The au pair must have her own room
  • Family should speak Italian
  • Daily working hours should not exceed 30 hours per week
  • Au pair is entitled to receive between €250 & 300 Euros per month
  • Au Pair should be given enough free time to attend language course
  • Allow for some extra spending like mobile phone, insurance, language course
  • No contract is needed for Italy, however We Hive recommends to use the official EU contract template to formalize daily tasks
